Biography
Who is Jean-Sébastien Marier?
I am an Ottawa-based bilingual journalist with experience in online, print, radio and TV reporting. My articles have been published in The Gazette, the Ottawa Citizen, La Presse and various student publications. Last winter, I was part of the editorial and production team of Midweek, a weekly public affairs show on Carleton University’s radio station (CKCU). This summer, I worked as an intern radio reporter-editor and videojournalist for Radio-Canada in Sudbury. I am now back in Ottawa; casually working for CBC/Radio-Canada and trying to make a byline for myself as a freelancer.
I am also a travel aficionado. In recent years, I have taught video editing in a Burundian university, spent a month in Colombia shooting a documentary on political street theatre, worked as an information technology support clerk in a provincial ministry of health in Ecuador and interned at Benin’s national TV.
I hold a Master of Journalism degree from Carleton University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from York University.
